Obituary of Elsie Marie Layman

Palmer, Tennessee – Mrs. Elsie Marie Layman, 84, passed away Wednesday March 2, 2022, at the STRHS-Winchester Hospital.  She was born in Griffiths Creek, Tennessee on April 11, 1937, to George David Griffith and Emma N. Layne Griffith who preceded her in death along with her husband, John Adam Layman; sons, J.C. and David Allen Layman; granddaughter, Alicia Layman; brothers, Howard and Virgil Griffith; sisters, Odell Nunley, Letha Griffith, Hester Griffith, Carrie Dick and Corrie Nunley.

She is survived by her son, John (Sherry) Layman, Bill Layman (Andrea Turner) and James Layman; daughter, Linda Layman all of Palmer, Tennessee; grandchildren, Desiree Lynn Layman, Felicia Layman, Devin Layman, Kendra Layman and Trevor Vandergriff; great grandchild, Matthew J.C. Allen Totherow; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Brett Meeks and Lonnie B. Nance officiating with burial to follow in the Griffiths Creek Cemetery.

Visitation: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
