Obituary of Jackie Floyd Sweeton

Beersheba Springs, Tennessee – Mr. Jackie Floyd Sweeton, 77, passed away Tuesday June 28, 2022, at his home.  He was born in Altamont, Tennessee on April 15, 1945, to Ernest Sweeton and Edith “Tabby” Layne Sweeton who preceded him in death along with his wife, Glenda Earlene Norris Sweeton; brother, Jerry Sweeton.

He was a US Army veteran and was retired from Carrier Corporation.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher (Deana) Sweeton and Brian Keith Sweeton; brother, Jimmy Sweeton; sisters, Jewell Gipson, Barabara Jean (Kenneth) Turner, Joyce Cawley and Janice Nolan; granddaughter, Krista and Arlene Sweeton; great grandchild, Austin; future great grandson, Wyatt; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home parlor with Chris Pickett officiating with burial to follow in the Walker Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation:  11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee.
