Obituary of James Earl Holt

Beersheba Springs - Mr. James Earl "Bud" Holt, 82, passed away at his home Saturday August 10, 2013. He was a First Sergeant in the US Army with 27 years of active service in Vietnam, Korea and Germany. He was a member Pearls of Christ Church, Sewanee Lodge # 405 F & AM at Tracy City, Al Menah Shrine of Nashville and the Scottish Rite Bodies of Chattanooga. He was born in Sherwood, Tennessee on March 15, 1931 to Arvis Milburn Holt and Ruthie Jane Jackson Holt who preceded him in death along with his infant son James Earl "Buster" Holt Jr.; sisters, Beulah Mae Kirk, Willie Ruth Matlock, Laura Jean Singleton and Shirley Ann Payne. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Robeata "Fran" Griffith Holt; son, Arvis William "Jim" Holt (Renita), Murfreesboro; daughters, Patsy Michel (Neil), Idaho and Karen Knight, New Mexico; brothers, Arvis Milburn Holt Jr., Hendersonville, TN and Johnny Holt (Lana), Pelham, TN; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Belmap (Kevin), James Michel, Krystal Meeks (Billy), Johnny Ray Holt, Lili Anna Vaught and Jacob McAfee Holt; 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Arvis W. Holt, Anthony Wanamaker and Alton Scruggs officiating with burial to follow in the Hunerwadel Cemetery with military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
