Obituary of Carol Lynn Grimes

Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee – Mrs. Carol Lynn Grimes, 68, died Sunday December 25, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Walter R. Burnett and Margaret Coffelt Burnett; husband, Charles David Grimes; brother, Billy Ray Burnett.

She was born in Whitwell, Tennessee and attended the Mount Etta Freewill Baptist Church until her health declined.

She is survived by her son, Edward Grimes; daughters, Diane Grimes and Amy (Barry) Smith; brother, David (Karen) Burnett; grandchildren, Christopher, Katelynn and Chelsea Smith; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Burkett’s Chapel Cemetery with Ministers Ronald Coffelt and Don Layne officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Friends and family will meet at the Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help with funeral expenses.
