Obituary of Michael Evan Shrum

Palmer, Tennessee – Mr. Michael Evan Shrum, 67, died peacefully at his home Saturday March 4, 2023.  He was born in McMinnville, Tennessee on May 11, 1955, to James Shrum Jr. and Anna Joyce Brewer Shrum who preceded him in death along with his grandson, Kristopher William; granddaughter, Aireal Nicole.

He was a retired mechanic and member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 917 for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Britton Shrum; brother, Mark (Ernie Ellen) Shrum; daughters, Misty Martin, and Monica (Leslie) Turner; grandchildren, Katelynn, Evan, Joshua, Lucas, Ryan (Paige), Michael (Heather), Levy (Lauren); great grandchildren, Kamarie, Zenya, Ariella, Grayson, Thorin, Kaylena, Braxton, Reuben and Rowan; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all their family and friends for prayers, meals, and visits.  Also, Barkers Cove Community Church and Hospice of Chattanooga.

Per Mikes wishes he will be cremated.

A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
