Obituary of Katherine Hobbs
Altamont, Tennessee – Mrs. Katherine Hobbs, 86, passed away Wednesday March 22, 2023 at the Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born in Guntersville, Alabama on May 24, 1936, to Eugene Hampton and Lois Denny Hampton who preceded her in death along with her husband, Bobby Franklin Hobbs Sr.; sisters, Ola Jo and Mamie Barrett; brothers, J.C., L.D., Otis and Bud Hampton.
She was a member of the AirView Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Janie (Charles) Scott; sons, Bobby Franklin Hobbs Jr and Troy Wade (Sharon) Hobbs; sister, Betty Meeks; brother, James (Donna) Hampton; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday at the Little Johnny Myers Cemetery with Minister Dal Barrett officiating.
Visitation: 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee.
