South Pittsburg, Tennessee - Mr. Andrew Shane Grider departed this earthly life unexpectedly at his home on April 6, 2023.  He passed away while participating in one of his favorite hobbies, which was gardening in his yard.  Andy was born August 5, 1976 to the late Marion Harold Grider and Mary Miles Cameron Grider.

Andy currently served as a deacon and song leader at Bridgeport church of Christ and as a song leader at Doran’s Cove church of Christ.  Andy graduated from South Pittsburg High School in 1995 and remained an avid Pirate fan.  He was blessed with the opportunity to watch Cameron play football for the Pirates and to watch Callie cheer for the SPA Pirates.  He received his Bachelors of Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2000.  After graduating from UTC, he became employed as a Disability Claim Specialist at Unum. Andy met his precious wife, Amy, in 1999 while attending service at South Pittsburg Church of Christ.

Andy was a man of many talents and hobbies.  He loved his family and was involved in every aspect of their lives.  He enjoyed gardening, camping, and painting.  Andy enjoyed attending games, watching games, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide.  He volunteered many years with the arts and crafts committee for the National Cornbread Festival.  He spent many hours volunteering his talents to landscape projects at church and at Beene Stadium. He also served as VBS director for many years.  His kind and unselfish spirit will be missed and mourned by his family, his church family, many friends and co-workers.

Andy was preceded in death by his dad Marion Grider, his paternal grandparents Harold and Jewell Dean Smith Grider, his maternal grandparents Miles and Mary Ellen Raulston Cameron.
