Obituary of Wayne Ladue Smartt
Coalmont, Tennessee – Mr. Wayne Ladue “Trick” Smartt, 72, passed away Wednesday July 5, 2023, at the Hospital in Sewanee, Tennessee. He was born in Coalmont, Tennessee on July 28, 1950, to Thomas Winfred Smartt and Joyce Florence Short Smartt who preceded him in death along with his wife, Janie Nunley Smartt; infant granchild, Jessica Elizabeth Smartt.
He was retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation and a member of the Sewanee Lodge #405 F&AM.
He is survived by his, daughters, Jennifer (Anthony) Sweeton, Rose Knight Turney and Jeanette (Keith) Lee; sons, Randy (Jane) Nunley, Raymond (Candy) Nunley and Clint Nunley; sister, Judy Nunley; brothers, George D. (Sadie) Smartt and Ronald E. Smartt; grandchildren, Kerrie, Jared, Nichelle, Leah, Jason, Jamie, Lauren, Kelsey, Justin, Joshua, JennaRae, Bella, Jacob, Kaytlin, Trey, Rylee and Jace; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday July 8, 2023, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Joe Nunley officiating with burial to follow in the Coalmont Cemetery.
Visitation: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
