Obituary of Johnnie Lee Smith

GRUETLI-LAAGER – Mrs. Johnnie Lee Smith, 90, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023 at her home. She was born on August 2, 1932 to John and Ova Melton Hargis who preceded her in death along with her husband, James Smith, Sr.; sons, Steve Smith and George Smith; brothers, Bill Hargis and Jimmy Hargis; sister, Mary Wise. 

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Smith, David (Andrea) Smith and Charlie (Robin) Smith; grandchild, George Smith; several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Bill Frisbee and Bro. Jim Borne officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. 

Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN
