Obituary of Edna Ruth Knight

BEERSHEBA SPRINGS – Mrs. Edna Ruth Knight, 86, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Panhandle Baptist Church. She was born on March 18, 1937 to Marshall Oren and Esther Iola Green King who preceded her in death along with her husband, Horace Newton Knight, Sr.; brother, Elmer King; sister, Betty Killian; infant son, Horace Newton Knight, Jr.; special friend, Georgia Knight.

She is survived by her daughters, Nadine (Larry) Richardson, Deborah Williams (late Berry Hennessee), Marsha (Wendell) Smartt, Polly (Rickey) Whitman, Regina (late Linsey) Stewart, Wanda (Michael) Whitman; brothers, Glen King (Catherine Phillips), Paul (Florence) King, Howell (Sharon) King; sisters, Rose Bone (Ken Diesburg), Esther Mae (Andrew) Eubanks; uncle, Paul Green; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Josephine Grimes, Georgia Nunley, Jean Knight; several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Kenny Barrett officiating with burial to follow in the Hunerwadel Cemetery.

Visitation: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Wednesday; 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM Thursday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN
