Tracy City - Mrs. Mary Lou Shook Milbrath Passed September 22, 2013 at the Sheltering Arms Home in Palmer, Tennessee where she was loved and received excellent care. She was born in Tracy City on February 14, 1919. She received her teaching certificate from Memphis State and taught at Hubbard's Cove, Gruetli-Laager and Monteagle, before moving to Chicago where she was employed by Continental Can Company. She was also employed by Econ O Cloth in Clermont, FL., until retirement. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Tracy City and Tracy City Chapter 266 Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alan M. and Buena Cannon Shook; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret "Polly" Shook Foster and Haskell Foster; brother, Alan C. "Juke" Shook and husband Ralph E. Milbrath. She is survived by nieces, Elaine Andrews and Diana Foster, Allison (Conrad) Eddington and nephew, Brian (Vickie) Shook, as well as great nieces, Beth (Parrish) Cragar, Reid, Emory and Shea Eddington; great nephews, David (Missy) Lowrie and Thomas (Misty) Andrews, Alan Michael Shook; great-great niece, Scarlett Andrews; great-great nephews, Patrick Lowe and Hank Lowrie; sister-in-law, Lois Shook; special friend Francis Flury. Graveside funeral services will be held 4:30 PM Tuesday at the City Cemetery in Tracy City, Tennessee with Rev. Linda Hutton officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Margaret Shook Foster Scholarship Fund at Mountain Valley Bank in Monteagle, Tennessee.
