Obituary of Charles David Grimes

Gruetli-Laager - Mr. Charles D. Grimes, 61, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, Monday September 23, 2013. He was a Coal Miner and Carpenter. He was born in Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee to Hershel Wesley and Ethel Juanita Vaughn Grimes who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Carl Ray and Herbert Lee Grimes. He is survived by his wife, Carol Lynn Burnett Grimes; son, Edward Grimes; daughters, Diane Grimes and Amy (Barry) Smith; grandchildren, Christopher, Katelynn and Chelsea Smith; sisters, Juanita Griffith, Carolyn (Darwin) Shipley, Ellen (Grady) Lemons and Irene (Terry) Campbell; brothers, Earl (Brenda), William (Connie), Wayne, Joe (Charlotte) and Benny (Bobbie) Grimes; a host of loving nieces and nephews. Graveside Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Burkett's Chapel Cemetery with Ministers Don Layne and Jeremy Robinson officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
