Obituary of Iva Gail Rollins

Palmer, Tennessee – Mrs. Iva Gail Rollins, 75, passed away Thursday August 16, 2023, at her home in Palmer, Tennessee.  She was born in Tracy City, Tennessee on February 23, 1948, to James Thomas Smith and Flora Layne Smith Partin who preceded her in death along with her stepfather, Alvin Partin; husband of 50 years, Ernest E. “Pappy” Rollins; daughter, Lisa Gail Rollins; brothers, Albert, Bill, Jack, Dennis, Ronnie, Kenny, Anthony and Larry Smith.

She attended the Griffith Creek Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Rollins; daughter, Charlotte (Michael) Turner; brother-in-law that she raised as her son, James “Will” Rollins; grandchildren, Felesha (Dillon) Nunley, Jessica (Tanner) Foutch, Danielle (Matt) Smith, Sasha (Brad) Basham, Jamie and Kellie Rollins; great grandchildren, Slade, Crimson, Raine, Easton, Daxton, Raelee and Mattilyn; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Joe Sanders, Alex Rollins and Bill Ross officiating with burial to follow in Mount Olive Cemetery.

Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee
