Gruetli-Laager - Mr. Roy Neal, 84, died Thursday, October 17, 2013. Roy was a Stone Mason and Farmer by trade and a lover of music at heart. He enjoyed playing bluegrass and gospel music on the fiddle, guitar and organ.
He was born in Pikeville, Tennessee on July 18, 1929 to Fred and Adaline McDaniel Neal who preceded him in death along with his brothers, John L., Malcolm and James Clarence Neal; sisters, Fannie Swafford and Lily May Neal; wife and mother of his children, Hazel Tate Neal; wife, Patricia Moreland Neal.
He is survived by his daughter, Jewell (Greg) Smith of Sewanee, TN; son, Fred (Patricia) Neal, Ellisville, MS; step-children, Andy West, Gruetli-Laager, Lenora (Greg) Gass, Ringgold, GA and Teresa Swafford, Fort Oglethorphe, GA; brother, Mike Neal, Dayton, TN; grandsons, Kevin (Jenna) and James Smith; granddaughter, Rebekah (Jace) Wells; great granddaughters, Hannah and Bailey; loving nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at the Fall Creek Cemetery in Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee
