Gruetli-Laager - Mr. Kent A. Layne, 77, passed away Saturday January 25, 2014. He was a US Army veteran and a retired truck driver. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on September 2, 1936 to Joe C. and Hazel Morrison Layne who preceded him in death along with his brother, Joey Layne.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Sanders Layne; sons, Darren (Tammy) Layne of Hixson and Keith Layne of Palmer; sister, Linda Layne; brother, Jerry (Jimmie) Layne both of Florida; grandson, Jacob; granddaughter, Katrina; great granddaughter, Hadleigh; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Willard Griffin officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
