Altamont - Mrs. Elizabeth Louise Bess, 78, passed away at her home Monday June 23, 2014. She was a member of the Altamont Baptist Church. She was born in Dade County, Georgia on September, 27, 1935 to Joe and Arizona Middlebrooks Phillips who preceded her in death along with her daughter, Deborah Meeks; husband, Edgar Bess; sister, Betty McNeese; brothers, Walter, O.B., Junior and Cecil Phillips; great grandson, Jimmylee Barrett.
She is survived by her daughters, Rita (Jackey) Hoosier, Palmer, TN and Wanda (Bill) Hoosier, Kissimmee, FL; brothers, Steve (Linda) Phillips, Chickamauga, GA and Clarence "Bunk" (Sandra) Phillips, Lookout Mountain, GA; sister-in-law, Caroline Phillips, Lookout Mountain, GA; grandchildren, Chasity (Jaron) Barrett, Nathan (Stephanie) Cunningham, Michael Hoosier, Brittney (Cody) Childers, Miguel (Sarah) Cruz; 9 great grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ab Scott and Bro. Don Hill officiating with burial to follow in the Altamont Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM Tuesday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
