Gruetli-Laager - Mrs. Mae Arlene Bivens, 90, passed away at her home Monday August 4, 2014 with her family at her side. She was a member of Bivens Chapel Congregational Methodist Church. She was born in Tracy City on August 23, 1923 to Hershel and Minnie Johnson Brown who preceded her in death along with her husband, William T. Bivens; an infant son; son, Charles Bivens; grandsons, Quentin and Matthew Bivens.
She is survived by her sons, Don and Mark Bivens (Eileen); daughters, Willene (Preston) Knowlan, Mary Thomas, Alma Anderson, Joyce (Brad) Layne and Darlene (Anthony) Sanders; sister, Wanda Lee Meeks; 29 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; loving friend and caregiver, Brenda Myers.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday August 6, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry Campbell officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM Tuesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
