Rossville, Georgia - Mr. Howard E. "Sonny" Shrum, 76, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on March 23, 1938 to Howard W. and Opal Crabtree Shrum who preceded him in death along with his wife, Doris Maddox Shrum; son, Steven M. Shrum; brother, Franklin "Pinky" Shrum; sister, Pauline Clifton.
He is survived by his sons, Jason and his companion, Melinda, Eddie, Robbie, Johnny and Brian Shrum; brothers, Jerry (Ann) Shrum; sisters, Brenda (Floyd) Jones, Anita Patsy Layne, Billie Faye (Leo) Boggess, Carolyn Ann (Larry) Hawkins and Nancy (Frank) Weiss; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Benji Goins and Judge Winston Webb officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
