Gruetli-Laager - Mrs. Willie Mae Borne Layne, 87, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at her home with her family near She was a member of Wesley Chapel Holiness Church. She was born in Grundy County on April 29, 1927 Jesse Arthur and Ada Bell Nunley Borne who preceded her in death along with her husband, Carl David Layne; infant sister, Velma Letha Borne; sisters, Rosa Gibbs, June Gibbs and Ruby Caldwell; brothers, Howard and Louie Borne.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Kenneth) Layne; brother, Lonnie (Abbie) Borne; granddaughters, Karen (Cecil) McFarland and Connie (Jeff) Meeks; great grandson, J.C. McFarland II.; great granddaughters, Kasey McFarland and Kendra (Justin) Hanner; great great grandchildren, Kaleb Meeks and Alexa Hanner; several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Delbert Layne officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
