Obituary of Morgan Jackson Johnson

Altamont - Bro. Morgan Jackson Johnson, 81, passed away November 6, 2014 at his home with his family near. He was a coalminer for 45 years, Custodian at Tracy City Elementary and Preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ at many Congregational Methodist and Baptist Congregations in the area. He was born in Tracy City on May 9, 1933 to Morgan and Beulah Carrick Johnson who preceded him in death along with his wife and mother of his children, Alene Gipson Johnson; sister, Betty Sue Johnson; brothers, Elbert, Loys, Wes, Bill and Barney Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Rollins Johnson; son, Jeff (Roxanne) Johnson; daughters, Jackie (Donnie) McBee and Kendra (Stephen) Frederick; sisters, Mary "Duck" Nunley, Ruby Curtis and Josephine Caldwell; step-children, Debbie (Jeff) Broadway, Anthony (Cheryl) Tate, Jerry Tate and Tammy (Dennis) Sons; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a host of loving step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Dal Barrett and Ikie Slatton officiating with burial to follow in the Gregg Cemetery.
