Obituary of Allie Rachel Griffith

Whitwell - Mrs. Rachel Slatton Griffith, 82 of the Griffith's Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday November 9, 2014 with her family at her side. She was of the Methodist faith and retired from Signal Knitting Mill in Chattanooga. She was born in Palmer on June 21, 1932 to Huke and Bertha Kilgore Slatton who preceded her in death along with her husband of 66 years, William Griffith Jr. who passed away October 23, 2014; sisters, Elsie Slatton, Margie Smith and Dorothy Higgins; brothers, Evertt, Frank, Johnny, Bill Curg and Wallace Slatton. She is survived by the children of her heart, Jeannie (Buddy) Richardson, Jeremy (Marie) Robinson, Rebekah (Wally) Nolan and Norman (Tisa) Robinson; sister, Norna Mae (Rod) Campbell; brothers, R.B. (Carolyn) Slatton and Horace Ray (Zella) Slatton; a host of nieces and nephews. A special thanks to NHC of Dunlap and Amedisys Hospice for their special care. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Layne Funeral Home, Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Robinson officiating with burial to follow in the Griffith's Creek Cemetery.
