Gruetli-Laager -Joe David Tate, 82, passed away Wednesday January 21, 2015 at a Monteagle nursing home. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on July 28, 1932 to Arthur D. and Mary Jane Knox Tate who preceded him in death along with his wife, Glenda Sue Tate; sisters, Joyce Layne, Iris Faye and Marie Fisher; brothers, Charles and William Ford Tate. He is survived by his sons, David (Julia)Tate, Gruetli-Laager, James W. (Raven) Tate, Arizona, Gary Allen Tate, Altamont, Mike Tate, Georgia, Joe M. Tate, New Mexico; daughters, Carolyn (Danny) Ford, Louisiana and Nancy Ann Tate, New Mexico; sister, Helen Kirk, Arizona. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Tony King officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery.
