Gruetli-Laager Mr. Derek Edward "Big D" King, 37, passed away Friday January 23, 2015 at a Chattanooga Hospital. He was born in McMinnville on March 12, 1977 and attended Grundy County High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Morris King; brother, Richard Lee Green; grandparents, Mary King, Dave and Lois White. cousin, William Dewayne Fults.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley King; Fiance', Jennifer Burnett; children, Shelby and Tyler; sister, Melisha Green; grandfather, Tony King; aunts, Phyllis (Billy) Holt, Charlotte (Dave) Fults, Glenda Wannamaker and Edna (Martin) Meeks; uncle, Jimmy King; nieces, Alaura, Sherry, Kelsey and Kaylee.
A memorial service will be 4:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tyler McCullough officiating. His ashes will be buried at the White Cemetery. Visitation: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com The family requests contributions to help with funeral expenses.
