Gruetli-Laager - Mrs. Clara Augusta Landon, 94, passed away Friday morning at the Sheltering Arms Home in Palmer. She was a retired school teacher from the Grundy County School System and served as the first Librarian at Palmer. She was of the Baptist faith. She was born in Coalmont, Tennessee on August 21, 1920 to Samuel Bone and Lillian Mooney Born who preceded her in death along with her husband, George Edward Landon, Sr.; son, George Edward Landon, Jr.; brothers, Victor, Claude, Ernest, Luther, Lonnie and Wesley Bone; sisters, Etta Mae Bone Landon, Josephine Bone Patterson, Alice Bone Warren, Ruby Bone Rust, Edith Bone McDaniel, Jennie Lee Bone and one infant sibling.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Rose Landon Lovelace, Monteagle; sister, Sue Hargis, Powder Springs, GA; brothers, Clyde Bone, Smithville, TN, Sam Bone, Huntland, TN and Paul Bone, Michigan; grandchildren, Rickey E. (Susan) Landon, James C. Landon, Tim Landon, L. Heath (Jo) Lovelace, Sherry K. Partin, Chanda D. (Eddie) Courtney; great grandchildren, Amber, Wade, Ben, Melena, Ashley, Jayla, Xack, Landon, Shelby, Lemmy and Lyric; great great grandchildren, Cula Brianna; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Coalmont Cemetery officiated by Bro. Ben Curtis. Visitation: 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
