PALMER - Mrs. Nancy E. Callahan, 72, passed away at her home Friday, March 23, 2012. She was born on July 15, 1939 to Sam and Carrie Sanders who preceded her in death along with her brothers, Richard and Melvin Sanders; sisters, Margaret Safer and Betsy Lou Sanders. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gifford E. Callahan, Sr.; sons, Gifford E., Jr., Mickey (Jena), Teddy (Sandra) and Dale Callahan; daughters, Julie A. Tate (Billy Joe Asbury), Gloria Landen (Tommy Jacobs), Margie (Jamie) Layne, Gina (Russell) Smith, Tammy Johnson (Henry White) and Teresa Vinson (Steve Henderson); sisters, Patricia Darlene "Pat" Hughes and Jo Ann Campbell; 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
