Obituary of Joyce Brown Cordell

Palmer - Mrs. Joyce Brown Cordell, 83, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Sheltering Arms Home in Palmer with her family near her bedside. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on January 24, 1932 to Herman and Maudie Sehorne Brown who preceded her in death along with her sisters, Eunice Brown and Doris Hargis; brother, Herman Brown Jr. She was a member of the Flat Mountain Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles Clifford Cordell; daughter, Judy (Jim) Oltman, Beatrice, Nebraska; sons, Gary (Charlotte Worley) Cordell of Hillsboro, Mike (Teresa James) Cordell, of Palmer and John (Susan Partin) Cordell, Cumberland Heights; sister, Jimmie Mae (Bobby) Sweeton; brother, Huey Paul (Cecilia) Brown, Euclid, OH; grandchildren, Jeff (LeAnn), Brian (Audrie), Darian (Amy), Brandie (Colton) and Justin; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother-in-law, Raymond Hargis of Manchester; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Pastors John Jones and Danny Coffelt officiating with burial to follow in the Brown's Chapel Cemetery.
