Obituary of Herschel Finch

Gruetli-Laager - Mr. Herschel Finch Jr., 86, passed away Friday October 16, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on October 14, 1929 to Hershcel and Ruby Gifford Finch who preceded him in death along with his sister, Jimmie Ruth "Boots" Nunley. He was retired from the US Navy and was veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a devoted husband who labored to supply the needs of his wife of 61 years and his children who loved and honored him. He is survived by his wife, Jeanetta Tate Finch; sons, Herschel (Kathryn) Finch III, Jacksonville, Florida and John W. Finch, Coalmont; brother, Larry Finch, Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Betty Bush Green, Bonnie (Gene) Layne and Anita Crabtree; grandchildren, Brandy Jewell, Herschel Finch IV, Diana Kathryn and John Jacob Finch; 3 great grandchildren, Dakota Mason, Autumn Brooke and Emma Grace Finch; numberous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Tony King and Benji Goins officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
