Sgt Smith was my senior Drill Instructor, at Paris Island In 1971. I was in Platoon 1037. Sgt Smith was such a dedicated Marine, we won every competition given to us. His professionalism to the Marine Corps , showed in everything he did. To the family-- I am very sorry for your loss of a fine man. Dennis B Schall Sr
