Obituary of Rhoda Tabitha Rankin

Gruetli-Laager - Mrs. Rhoda King Rankin, 92, passed away Wednesday January 6, 2016 at The Health Care Center at Standifer Place in Chattanooga. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on June 14, 1923 to William Carroll and Lila Jane Smith King who preceded her in death along with her husband, Murphy David Rankin; sisters, Lillie Crow, Maude Reed and Ruth King Curtis; brothers, Henry Reed, George, Lewis and Elzie King; grandson, Darren Christopher Finch. She is survived by her daughters, Sue Melton, Tracy City, Diane Rankin, Palmer, Dean (Richard) Kuchnicki, Clinton Township, Michigan and Mickie Rankin, Severn, Maryland; sons, Billy (Kathy) Rankin, Johnny (Sandra) Rankin, Gruetli-Laager and Michael (Linda) Rankin, Byron, Georgia; sisters, Katherine Christian, Viola Walker and Davene Griffith; 20 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Joe Sanders officiating with burial to follow in the Swiss Colony Cemetery.
