Obituary of Joel Thomas Walden

GRUETLI-LAAGER - Joel Thomas Walden, 67, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at his home. He was born in Jellico, Tennessee on January 12, 1945 to Everett and Edith Laws Walden who preceded him in death along with his granddaughter, Maggie Lynn Sabella; brothers, Wiley and Emil Walden; mother and father-in-law, Lillie Mae (Hart) and Ernest Earl Parson; brother-in-law, Delano Smith; sisters-in-law, Lorretta and June Walden. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Parson Walden; daughter, Joanna (Adrian) Sabella; grandson, Ayden Joel Sabella; brothers, James (Louise), Sam (Diana) and David (Shelia) Walden; sisters, Bobby Ruth Smith and Linda Kay (Charles) McCloud; sister-in-law, Althea Walden; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
