Obituary of Lena Virginia Turner

Palmer - Lena Virginia Turner, 88, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011. She was born in Palmer on January 01, 1923 to the late George and Vergie Layne Layman. She married Ernest Edley Turner who preceded her in death along with her grandsons, Todd Steven Floyd and Donnie E. Turner, II; half-sisters, Lou Griffith and Liza Smith; sister, Hayesel Layne; brothers, Leon and J.C. Layman; half-brothers, Werner and Homer Layman. She is survived by her son, Donnie E. (Marguerite) Turner, I, Palmer; daughters, Tina Shadrick, Whitwell, Wanda (John) Hargis, Jasper, Cindy (Joe) Sanders, Palmer, Donna (Marvin) Anderson, Tracy City and Christie (Jeff) Crisp, Palmer; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; special thanks to caregivers, Etta Hudson and Dorothy Smith; Jeff Nelson with Amedysis Hospice. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
