Obituary of Doris Hargis

Mrs. Doris Hargis, 81, of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday April 19, 2011. She was a native of Grundy County and a long time member of the Church of Christ. She was born on September 5, 1929 to Herman and Maudie Sehorne Brown who preceded her in death along with her sister, Eunice A. Brown; brother, Herman Brown Jr.; great-granddaughter, Randi LaShay Hargis. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Raymond Hargis; daughter, Deborah and husband Charles Boyd; son, Jody and wife Dee Hargis; sisters, Joyce and husband Clifford Cordell, Jimmie Mae and husband Bobby Sweeton; brother, Huey and wife Cecilia Brown; grandsons, Jared and wife Shannon Hargis, Tallman and Harrison Boyd; step-grandchildren, Victoria and Kenji Kato; great-grandson, Ethan Hargis; many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Joe D. Gray officiating followed by a private interment at the Swiss Colony Cemetery. Visitation: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Thursday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
