Obituary of Helen D. Summers

PALMER - Mrs. Helen Delane Cordell Summers, 77, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, June 03, 2012. She was a member of Cumberland Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church and also served as Grundy County Register of Deeds. Helen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was born April 30, 1935 to John Leslie and Nellie Ruth Dykes Cordell who preceded her in death along with her infant sister, Johnnie Ruth Cordell; great-grandson, Jaxson Tucker Simmons. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jack Summers; sons, Ricky (Kim) Simmons and Chris (Tish) Summers; daughters, Mona "Dotta" (Donald) Henry and Rose Summers; brother, Clifford (Joyce) Cordell; sisters, Geneva (Ed) Hancock and Johnnie Ruth Hampton; grandchildren, Lebron, Tiffany (Russell), Shaun (Candace), John, Victoria, Elizabeth, Brayden, Colton and Luke; great-grandchildren, Rheagan, Wrylee, Jacob and Ethan. Funeral services will be 1:00 Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
