ALTAMONT- Mrs. Linda Jane Smartt Floyd, 73, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011. She was born in Altamont on June 27, 1938 to Haskel and Ada Scruggs Tate who preceded her in death along with her sister, Melba Tate Rollings; brothers, John Robert, Owen Kendall and Tommy Tate. She is survived by her daughter, Penny Sons (Johnny Jones); sons, Ricky (Kay) Smartt and Ronnie Smartt; sister, Peggy Hutchins; grandchildren, Whitney (Jeremy) Brown, Cory Smartt, Becky Rymer, Darin Sons and Haley Sons; great-grandchildren, Carter Brown and Kyndyl Brown; several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Clayton Jones and Coy King officiating with burial to follow in the Altamont Cemetery. Visitation: 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM Thursday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.
