MURFREESBORO - Mrs. Ruby Ethelene Gipson, 83, passed away Thursday, September 08, 2011. She was born in Mayfield, KY on October 22, 1927 to Walden Shrum and Cora Gibbs Shrum who preceded her in death along with her husband, Joe Gipson, Jr.; brother, Stanley Shrum. She is survived by her sons, Billy Ray, Larry Joe (Kathy), Harold Dean (Shirley), David (Kristie) and Ricky Lee (Pam) Gipson; brother, Jimmy (Dallastine) Shrum; half-sisters, Sue Smith and Mary Drake; half-brothers, Glen (Hannah), Barney (Faye) and Tommy (Sandy) Drake; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dean Gipson and Bro. Kevin Barrett officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM Saturday and 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
