PALMER- Mrs. Rosa Nell Scissom, 84, passed away Tuesday morning, September 13, 2011. She was a member of the Palmer Baptist Church. She was born in Palmer on October 08, 1926 to Albert and Alice Sanders Scissom who preceded her in death along with her husband, J.C. "Tommy" Scissom; son, Donald E. "Peanut" Scissom; brothers, Nelson and Delbert Sweeton. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Kenneth Dale) Fults and Jackie (Danny) Cox; sons, Danny Ray "Bear" (Peggy) Scissom, David (Kay) Scissom and Dale "Cotton" Scissom; sisters, Kathleen Smith and Betty (James) Rogers; brothers, Alton, Edward, Daymon (Nancy) and Wayne (Bobby) Sweeton; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. John Henry Coffelt and Bro. Ricky Hawkins officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
