PALMER - Mrs. Betty M. "Ovie" Hillis Swindle, 68, died Friday, December 09, 2011. She was a member of the Barkers Cove Community Church. She was born in Palmer on May 10, 1943 to Lee and Icie Fults Kenner who preceded her in death along with her husband, J.D. Hillis; second husband, Carl E. Swindle; sister, Polly Bowman; grandchildren, Jody Gavin Lee Dykes and Taylor Rosa Lee Morrison Dykes. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Larry) Morrison and Gaberial (Rudy) Nolan; grandchildren, Jamie Dion Morrison (Jody Dkyes) and Kyle Nolan; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Ravan Storm Dykes; sisters, Velvie Russell, Martha Sullivan, Molly (Tommy) Layman, Deborah (Wayne) Meeks and Dellene (Jonathan) Bivens; a host of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Glenn Scott and Bro. Dennis "Crow" Rollins officiating with burial to follow in the Shockley Cemetery. Visitation: 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
