GRUETLI-LAAGER - Mr. James Kenneth Layne, 65, of DeWitt, Iowa, died there on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his home. He was born in Gruetli-Laager on May 27, 1946 to Dock and Lizzie Nunley Layne who preceded him in death along with his grandson, Devon James Layne; brother, Joe Layne. He is survived by his wife, Delores Milder Layne; daughter, Florence J. "Dolly" Layne; sons, James Kenneth (Polly) Layne, Jr., Anthony Gene (Deb) Layne and John Jacob "J.J." Layne; sisters, Mary Ruth King and Elizabeth (Bob) Wauford; brother, John (Teresa) Layne; grandchildren, Caitlin, E.J., Colton and Jaiden; step-children, Andy, Austin and Johnny. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. James Caldwell officiating with burial to follow in the Burkett's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation: 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
