Obituary of Margaret Fay Nance

Gruetli-Laager – Mrs. Margaret Fay Nance, 85, passed away Friday June 3, 2016 at the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. She was born in Bryants Cove on January 3, 1931 to John Lafayette and Katie Maggie Plumer Davis Knowlan who preceded her in death along with her husband, Mitchel G. Nance; sisters, Louise Brewer, Myrtis Marie Taylor and Helen Caldwell Givens, infant sisters, Martha and Julie; brothers, John Nolan, George, Hershel, Harold Clifford, Haskel, Gillam and Douglas Knowlan; step-brothers, Paul and Willie Caldwell. She was a member of Bibleway Holiness Church. She is survived by her son, Timothy G. (Carol) Nance, Hixson; daughter, Elizabeth Faye Bivens, Coalmont; brothers, Charles Ray (Yo) Knowlan, Chattanooga and Preston (Willene) Knowlan, Gruetli-Laager; sister, Troas Layne, Palmer; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Don Layne and Jeremy Robinson officiating with burial to follow in the Burketts Chapel Cemetery.
