Obituary of Betty Jo Parks

Coalmont – Mrs. Betty Jo Parks, 84, passed away Thursday June 9, 2016 at the Golden Living – Mountain View Home in Winchester. She was born in Coalmont, Tennessee on November 15, 1931 to Isaac Lee Meeks and Mollie Pearl Brown Meeks who preceded her in death along with her husband, John T. “J.T.” Parks; sisters, Ethel Sweeton and Margaret Respess. Betty was of the Christian faith. She had been an over the road truck driver and was a founding member of the Coalmont Community Center helping make quilts with her friends to suppport the center. She loved being outdoors. Gardening and working in her flowers. She also enjoyed her little dogs. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Vicki Parks; sisters, Goldie Miller and Geneva Allen; grandsons, Isaac and Jason; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Coalmont Cemetery.
