Obituary of Joyce Katheleen Layne

Gruetli-Laager – Joyce Katheleen Layne, 84, went home to be with her Lord on Monday August 1, 2016 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. She was born in Whitwell, Tennessee on May 23, 1932 to Ernest and Gertrude Rollins Kilgore who preceded her in death along with her husband, Barney Layne; son, Harold “Dick” Layne; daughters, Wanda Jean Crisp and Ann Hood Abrahamson; sister, Lela Mae Layne; brothers, Loyce and Buford Kilgore. She is survived by her son, Terry Layne; daughters, Mary Katherine Rollins and Denise (Andy) Bonner; sister, Virginia (Jr.) McHone; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Willard Griffin officiating with burial to follow in the Swiss Colony Cemetery.
