COALMONT - Mrs. Nelda D. Dykes, 63, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 09, 2012 at her home. She attended the Coalmont United Methodist Church and was very active in helping with the Coalmont Community Center and served on the Library Board. She was born in Sewanee, TN on October 23, 1948 to Howard and Martha Crabtree Brown who preceded her in death along with her brother, David Brown and a infant brother. She is survived by her son, T.J. (Melissa) Dykes; sister, Rose (Rick) Rust; brother, Don (Dottie) Brown; grandchildren, Shayla Marie Dykes and Amber Nicole Sims; niece, Alicia Rust (James) Walker; nephews, Richard (Kathy) Rust and Nick Brown; great-niece, Katie Northcutt; great-nephews, Chase Rankin, Carter Walker, Hagan Walker, Michael Anderson and Jaron Northcutt. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Clayton Jones and Ray Winton officiating with burial to follow in the Coalmont Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
