Gruetli-Laager – Mr. Randal Hoyt James, 73, died Friday December 9, 2016 from injuries he received in a automobile accident near Whitwell. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on June 4, 1943 to Albert M. James and Ruby Anderson James who preceded him in death along with his wife, Claudia Faye “Sissy” Burnett James; daughters, Melissa Ann Cookston Jackson and Cristy Elaine James; brothers, Tommy, Billy, Neal, Malcolm and Mallory James.
He attended Bivens Chapel Congregational Methodist Church and loved playing the guitar at church and singing. Randal was a retired auto body repairman.
He is survived by his sons, Dewayne and Tommy James; brother, Oscar Harold (Martha) James; sisters, Mary (Edward) O’Neal, Diane James and Teresa (Mike) Cordell; sister-in-law, Ruby James; grandchildren, Casey and Tommy Jessie James, Justin Cookston, Faith Jackson; great grandchildren, Daniel, Joel and Dixie James; special girl friend, Wanda Birdwell; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Larry Campbell and Crow Rollins officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery.
