Altamont – Mrs. Opal Faye Nunley, 75, passed away, Tuesday February 14, 2017 at the Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN. She was born in McMinnville on March 13, 1941 to William Horton Hobbs and Ida Mai Fults Hobbs who preceded her in death along with her husband, Kermit Ray Nunley; sister, Juanita Hobbs. She owned and operated Nunley’s Grocery “Opal’s” in Altamont right up until her health declined. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Tracy City. She is survived by her son, Wade (Lisa) Nunley; daughter, Odell (Gary) Childers; brother, Douglas (Joyce) Hobbs; sisters, Linda (Charles) Childers and Treva (Larry) Campbell; grandchildren, Erik (Heather) Childers, Misty (Michael) Griffith, Cody (Brittney) Childers, Hunter, Carson and Allie Nunley; great grandchildren, Madison and Macie Childers; several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Craig Kimbro, Charles and Willie Childers officiating with burial to follow in the Airview Cemetery.
