Obituary of Gilford Ernest Callahan

Palmer – Mr. Gilford Ernest Callahan Sr., 83, died Wednesday March 22, 2017 at the Skilled Nursing Facility in Sewanee. He was born in Live Oak, Florida on November 19, 1933 to Eugene West Callahan and Blanche Carroll Callahan who preceded him in death along with 4 sisters and 2 brothers. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He is survived by his sons, Gilford E. Callahan Jr., Mickey (Jena) Callahan, Teddy and Dale Callahan; daughters, Julie Ann Tate (Billy Joe Asbury), Gloria Landon (Tommy Jacobs), Margie (Jamie) Layne, Gina Lynn Callahan (Larry J. Dykes Sr.), Tammie (Henry) White and Teresa Callahan (Steve Henderson). 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 3:30 PM Saturday March 25, 2017 in the funeral home in chapel with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery at 5:00 PM.
