Obituary of Irene Childers

Altamont – Mrs. Irene Childers, 84, passed away, Thursday May 11, 2017 at the Raintree Manor Nursing Home in McMinnville, Tennessee. She was born in Boone, North Carolina on July 11, 1932 to Gurna and Nellie Hollars Hodges who preceded her in death along with her husband, Thomas Edward Childers Jr.; sister, Jean Wood; brother, Roy Hodges.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Bouldin, McMinnville and Linda Campbell Fuller and her husband Steve Fuller, New Waverly, Texas; brother, Bill (Marlene) Hodges; sister, Sharlotte Sivley, Dayton, Tennessee;  5 grandchildren; Shane (Janie) Campbell, Troy Campbell, Tiffany (Dustin) Roberts, Jason Bouldin and Elizabeth Holder; 11 great grandchildren, Thomas (Ashlynn), Tristan, Tavin, Caleb, Brayden, Ethan, Rosilyn, Samuel, Allison, Jacob and Ryleigh; 1 great-great grandchild, Seth; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minsters Joe King and Steve Fuller officiating with burial to follow in the Airview Cemetery. Visitation: 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
