Obituary of Lola Bell Curtis

Gruetli-Laager – Mrs. Lola Bell Curtis, 81, passed away at her home, Thursday June 22, 2017.  She was born on Keener Mountain in Bledsoe County on May 2, 1936 to Luther C. Keener and Gracie Lea Kilgore Keener who preceded her in death along with her husband, William Harold Curtis; grandson, Dustan Ross, Misty Dawn and Sherry Ann Yates; brothers, Wilburn “Bud” and Jack Keener; sisters, Stella King and Mary Childers; 4 infant siblings.

She was a member of the Laager Methodist Church and had worked in local garment factories for 37 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Thomas; sons, Johnny (Greta) Curtis and Daryl Glynn Curtis; brothers Thurman (Sherry) Keener and Jim (Patsy) Keener; sisters, Ola Stockwell and Dolly Myers; granddaughter, Hillary (Derek) Moon; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Matthew Meeks officiating with burial to follow in the Browns Chapel Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
