Monteagle – Mrs. Lee Alice Finnell, 95, passed away peacefully Thursday August 24, 2017 at the Sheltering Arms Home in Palmer, Tennessee. She was born in Opelousas, LA on October 1, 1921 to Charles Clay and Juanita Holland Clay who preceded her in death along with her husband, Lewis Roscoe Finnell; sister, Helen Poe.
She was a graduate of Centenary College in Shreveport and long time member of First United Methodist in Shreveport attending the Gleaners Sunday School Class and later years Munholland United Methodist in Metairie, LA. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and was a devoted caregiver to her husband for many years. She enjoyed water sports but was no athlete and was a devoted worker in her church always behind the scenes preparing food and helping with any thing asked of her. She was devoted to her family and they cherish her memory.
She is survived by her sons, Malcolm E (Janet) Finnell, Monteagle and Andrew H. (Susan) Finnell, Houston, Texas; sisters, Peggy Holland (John) Padgham, Gainsville, TX and Bettye (Late Wayne) Crawford, Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Ashley (Frank) Barragan, Holland Finnell, step-grandchilderen, Kearston Schmidt, Merri (John) Neff and Brock (Megan) Schmidt; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday August 30, 2017 at the Forest Park Cemetery East in Shreveport, LA. www.laynefuneralhome.com
