Obituary of Cecil Thomas Meeks

Gruetli-Laager – Mr. Cecil Thomas “Tommy” Meeks, 76, passed away Saturday September 16, 2017 at his home. He was born in Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee on April 10, 1941 to William Thomas Meeks and Avis Smartt Meeks who preceded him in death along with his sons, Ricky and Bobby Meeks; great grandchild, Charlea Rue Meeks; brothers, Willie Raymond, Orville and Claude Meeks; sisters, Ida Moore, Mary Stem, Mae Ellen Barnett, Marie Madewell and Della Pease.

He was a truck driver and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints at Altamont.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Braden Meeks; daughter, Christy Meeks (Mark Roberts); sister, Jewell Dean Rigsby; grandchildren, Erica, Kasie, Brea, Landon, Drew and Anthony; 5 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Jody Campbell officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
