Obituary of George Daryl Brown

Coalmont – Mr. George Daryl Brown, 69, of the Cumberland Heights Community, was born in the Allons community near Livingston, Tennessee, on September 12, 1948.  He went home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2017 at the Unity Medical Center in Manchester.

Daryl spent five years in the United States Air Force followed by seven years in the United States Army.  He spent the remainder of his working years in the teaching profession, serving most of those years in the Grundy County School District.  He had been disabled and retired since 2002.

Daryl was preceded in death by his father Louis (Bud) Brown and his sister Janie Brown.

 Daryl is survived by his wife, Judith Ledford Brown; sons Robert Brown and Barry Brown of Coalmont, TN and Brian Pippin of Hillsboro, TN; and daughters Beth Brown of Gruetli-Laager, TN and Rebecca Phipps of Livingston, TN. Daryl leaves behind six grandchildren: Joshua, Michael, and Justin Pippin and Kit, Jake, and Georgia Phipps; he also leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Bryson, Jaiden, and Paige Pippin and Jack and Emberly Pippin. Daryl is also survived by his mother, Dean Sullivan and his sister Martha Bruton of Livingston, TN, and his sister Mary Rose Norris of Ooltewah, TN.

Visitation: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee and 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Tuesday at Halls Funeral Home, Livingston, Tennessee

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday in the Halls Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Damon and Fred Corley officiating with interment at the Jones Cemetery on Ledford Lane in Livingston, Tennessee.
